Earth Right Now: Year One in Review Over the past 12 months NASA has added five missions to its orbiting Earth-observing fleet – the biggest one-year increase in more than a decade. These five missions - GPM, OCO-2, SMAP, ISS-RapidScat, CATS -- are joined by 15 other mission currently in orbit and numerous airborne and field campaigns to provide new insights into how Earth works as a system. Over the last 60 years, NASA Astronauts have taken more than 1.5 million photos of Earth from space. These photos help record how Earth is changing over time, including human-caused changes and dynamic events such as hurricanes, floods & volcanic eruptions. #WorldPhotographyDay | NASA Earth
