CHICAGO (WLS) -- The Illinois primary election for the 2026 midterms is Tuesday. The polls closed at 7 p.m. ABC7 Chicago will be following along live with voting, Election Day activities and the results. Mike Quigley, a Democrat, and Tommy Hanson, a Republican, won their nominations for the 5th Congressional District.

Illinois Lt. Gov. Juliana Stratton won with the help of outside spending — much of it from Gov. JB Pritzker. CHICAGO — Democrats are now all but certain to elect another Black woman to the U.S. Senate after Lt.
